5.0 star star star star starI have stated before that Dr O’Brien treats my soul and not just my ailments. That wasn’t hyperbolic. I’ll repeat that anytime I get the opportunity to. His skill and patience as a medical practitioner is UNMATCHED.

5.0 star star star star starDr. O’Brien has always listened to my concerns regarding my personal health concerns and issues. And, definitely evaluated and included my thoughts when designing new game plans for my health care.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderAs explained above, dr. O'Brien did not really told me anything I don't know. He read the public CDC website for the necessary vaccinations for my destination (Tanzania) and compared them with my own vaccination history, which is available in the NW database. I was hoping that he could at least schedule vaccinations at the internal medicine clinic, but then he informed me that that's not possible and I need to take another appointment with Travel Medicine clinic, which charge their own consultation fee of $75-$110 plus injection fees besides the price of each vaccine. I told him these and he apologized but nothing changed.

5.0 star star star star starSubstitute for my primary internal medicine doctor that is on sabbatical - so only have had telehealth communications - but like most doctors listened, communicated well and of course educationally competent

5.0 star star star star starDr. O'Brien was actually a patient referral from another Northwestern Medicine Dr. that had him as his personal Dr. too and that carried a lot of weight with me and I am very happy to be under his care for several years now. All of his staff in the department are wonderful too and obviously work very well together. Phyl is a very personable nurse/technician that is a very important part of this team and patient experience too.

5.0 star star star star starHe is brilliant and sincere. I felt that he was genuinely concerned about my well-being. He kept good eye contact, his voice was comforting and he gave me superior advice that worked when I got home. I hope to see him again sometime in the future.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
