1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderHe didn't even read the NICU discharge notes prior to seeing my son. My son was discharged 36 hours prior to the appointment at RUSH and we brought all the necessary information to the front desk for him to review. But he lacked any ownership of finding out more information and now there are inaccurate points in the After Visit Summary because he made assumptions instead of reviewing the notes and asking us.

I love that he talks directly to my child and helps her understand her health. He is patient and answers all our questions. I wish more doctors were like him.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Martin is so down to earth and treats us great. He is funny and gives us lots of knowledge and information. He is a great Doctor. What I like most is that everything he advises us to do in regards to our son he uses real life examples and always provides evidence and research to us. We feel confident we are giving our son the best care.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Martin had my kids laughing and eased their anxiety of being at the doctor, especially for [ ], my autistic boy, who was on edge. They had a good time and want to go back and see Dr. Martin again. Dr. Martin has always been very personable, knowledgeable, and concerned for my kids through all the years we’ve been seeing him. We love him.

5.0 star star star star starOur family has been so lucky to work with Dr. Martin. He is always bringing new research and info from consulting experts to keep us up to date. He is active in pediatrics where he knows top specialists even outside of NW to ensure top notch care. He helped ease my anxiety over a 1+ month issue with my son by enacting a short and long term plan for treatment. Can't ask for more.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderHe didn't properly exam our child, we came with a lesion in mouth (probably oral thrush) and he barely look at the lesion, didn't touch it, his gloves were just half on his hands... He referred us to ENT right away, bring a business card and when we asked if our insurance covers this appointment he changed his referral to in-network, with first available appointment in June... He didn't even try to resolve the issue. We ended up asking for second opinion and the lesion quickly resolved with antifungal treatment. I asked him if this can be oral thrush and he didn't even listen to me. Highly disappointing!

4.0 star star star star star_borderWe really like Dr Martin and we’ve enjoyed our appointments with him and we plan to continue to see him. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise and has been helpful in addressing all our issues. He has a great sense of humor as well. The only area of critique is that he speaks really fast and sometimes it’s hard to understand everything he says especially since we’re all wearing masks. Also he tends to interrupt us when we’re speaking or asking a question. I’m sure he’s heard these questions a million times but we’d appreciate it if he would let us finish our asking questions.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderDr Martin seemed knowledgeable but both my 10 year old and I were pretty shocked when he said the F… word. He acknowledged that it was not appropriate but then a minute later said something along the lines of “that takes balls†or “I wish I had the balls for that†to my non-binary child. I was too shocked to say anything in the room but afterward I felt like I had to have a conversation with my child to make sure they knew that it was not normal or appropriate for a pediatrician to be talking like that in front of a child. 3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI find he’s too focused on allergies and allergy medications when it’s clear my child suffers from an acute illness. I’ve learned to mostly tune this out, but I’m not sure other friends would, which is why I am less likely to refer to him.

5.0 star star star star starDr Martin is fantastic. He takes the time to explain everything, gives great advice and really helps make every appointment fun. I love his approach and when he recommends anything he is a wealth of knowledge on the studies and reasons behind a recommendation.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderAlways feel rushed during our visits. Feels like I’m going to a drive through. I would expect a pediatrician to take the time to get to know their patient and the patients family. How can you build trust if you don’t get to know the family.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderHe wasn’t professional came off as a little mean actually, I don’t know if I think he even really care to work with children at a young age it felt like he didn’t want my 2 year old in his office . Very unpleasant.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderMy experience was disappointing and discouraging to say the least. I took my daughter to see Dr. Martin for sneezing, runny nose, coughing, and congestion and vomiting. From the start of the visit he focused on issues that were not of concern and gave irrelevant information. When he determined that it may be allergies that she is suffering from, he asked me if Singular worked for me which I responded I did not recall. I told him that I take Zyrtec for my allergy issues. He then went on to share that Singulair isn’t effective in most people but if it worked for me then it had higher chance of working for my daughter. I reminded him that I did not recall if it worked me and that it had been decades since I took it. I also asked him why we would begin treatment with a drug that is unlikely to work?! He commented we could try both. However, when going to pick up her prescription he had only put in an order for Singular generic. Not what I requested. During the visit I shared that my daughter is vomiting after her feeds. He asked if it was accompanied with coughing which I said yes. He shrugged it off and that it was phlegm. I tried to share that it was a significant amount of vomit and she was vomiting in succession. I also asked for advice or recommendation on what I should do when this happens and he just spoke about dehydration. I wanted to know what and if there was anything I should do before it got to that point. Overall, I did not feel like I was being heard but only spoken to and spoken over. Our daughter’s nanny accompanied me to the visit and he began speaking to her and even gave her the form with his recommendations. This is our fourth visit with him and although we’ve tried to give him a chance we will be changing health systems and care teams. The experiences have not been good. He is dismissive and does not like to be questioned.

5.0 star star star star starWisdom from research and experience = problem solving. Dr. Martin got to the bottom of an old health problem. Also, Dr. Martin asks the right questions. My almost adult son won’t forget him or that conversation.

5.0 star star star star starDr Martin was patient, kind, explained everything clearly and answered our questions thoroughly. He gave recommendations for care even beyond the current illness our toddler has. Even though my child was very upset and crying at the tip of his lungs, Dr Martin was so nice to him (and us) and made the appointment very lighthearted. Wonderful bedside was truly appreciated.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI have never ever met such a unprofessional doctor I didn’t even know he was done. He just left. He stayed in the room for less than 10 mins I didn’t even get to ask him all the things I wanted or concerns.
