He could have been more courteous when he was assisting the nurse that was using the heartbeat doppler. He didn’t have to completely expose my lower half of my body for the entire world to see. It was very unprofessional, I was very uncomfortable.

According to Dr Ding, he consult me for evaluation and recommendations regarding obesity. We did not talk about my weight. He did not evaluate, consult me or inform me of any complications during my pregnancy or birth. The only thing we discussed was a genetic disease that my sister in law had. I am upset that Dr Ding did not discuss my obesity at the appoinment.

He was very thorough and pleasant. He explained our options and sat with us patiently to answer questions. We didn’t feel rushed or dismissed at all. So kind and caring!

Bedside manner was not very good. He is smart and seems to know his field well, but speaking to sensitive patients is not his strong suit.

Again, during my first visit I felt he did a good job of answering our questions/addressing our concerns. During our second visit he was very vague and I left with tremendous anxiety around the health of our baby.

External Professional Relationships

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
