Dr. Penate listens carefully and puts me at ease so that I can effectively communicate with him. I never feel rushed. He responds in a timely manner with test results. Today's test results and his comments were availalbe on MyChart that afternoon. I leave my appointment feeling that he truly cares about my total heath.

Dr. Penate is the best MD without a doubt. He is thorough, asks great open-ended questions and listens effectively to diagnose. He went as far as reviewing my records from 2014 to understand my symptomatology. He follows up and comments on tests results 100% of the time. And he flexes his schedule for urgent symptoms. I'm confident in his recommended treatment plan everytime.

I have been a patient at NM for a very long time. One of my doctors retired and my internist left NM a few years ago so I now see this doctor. I have seen him several times. During Covid I gave him a break. And I understand everyone is busy and have a lot going on. Never has he asked me if I had any questions before I left. In fact each time he has rushed me out before I could get a chance to try to ask any. This is frustrating. The visit time was maybe 15 minutes. Which could have been enough if everything was covered. I guess it is sign of the times or maybe I was just lucky before. My previous doctors actually seemed to care.

I’ve been through several doctors as they have come and gone from this practice, Dr. Penate is by far the best. He spends time listening to me, knows the right questions to ask and is truly engaging in addressing concerns. I only wish I would have found him sooner.

While Dr. Penate is easy to talk with, however, I don't feel that I'm adequately evaluated. I only see him once a year and there are only 4 things that are touch-points. Everything else is based on blood work or urine analysis. I feel that touch is better than relying solely on blood work. I don't always believe that looking at panels/results are the best, most fool proof way to determine the status of my health. I guess I may be old fashioned in my belief about physical exams.

Dr. Douglas Penate provided one of the worst medical appointments I have ever had. I only saw him because I needed to be seen urgently due to being sick, and my PCP was booked up. He was arrogant and rude and didn't at all take the time to listen to or address my concerns regarding my illness. Simply put, not a good physician. I would not recommend him to anyone.
